The Canadian region includes most of southeastern Canada and has two levels of play. The Elite and most competitive teams and Elite level two which includes teams of the AA nature. See www.sandlottbaseballcanada.com.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Criteria for selection will hinge on quality of talent, level of commitment to the league, past years participation, geographic location as it relates to the other teams and several other considerations.

WHY IS IT BENEFICIAL TO PLAY A SANDLOTT SCHEDULE INSTEAD OF JUST PLAYING TOURNAMENTS?
Selecting teams in pairs creates the ability for each team and the team they're paired with, to host or travel to play two double headers in one weekend against two different opponents. Four games in one general location creates less travel and less wasted time. You don't have to leave Friday and get back late Sunday like you're many times forced to do when you play in tournaments. You know who and when you play well in advance. Each team plays 5 double headers (10 games). Two weekends covers 8 of the games and the team you're paired with in your immediate area can be played weekdays for the remaining double header. Each team sends to the SANDLOTT scheduler his home and away available play dates in May, June and half of July and the schedule is formed from those dates. The level of competition is unrivaled. Every team will be competitive and each team can expect quality baseball games with less travel and costs significantly less than playing the same number of games in tournaments.

WHAT ABOUT POST SEASON TOURNAMENT BERTHS?
Each year bids from each SANDLOTT Super League team can be submitted to host a SANDLOTT Super League Championship Tournament for their age group. All the SANDLOTT teams from all regions are automatically qualified to receive a berth to participate in that tournament. SANDLOTT also invites other top ranked teams from areas outside the current regions of play to insure the best in national competition.

HOW ARE SCHEDULES, SCORES AND STANDINGS MAINTAINED?
SANDLOTT Baseball has a web site, which is hosted by Owens Sports Publications.  It's called "The Sandlotter" www.sandlotter.com.  The Sandlotter assigns an official scorekeeper to each game who compiles results and scores, which are posted on the Sandlotter web site daily. Area college coaches and pro scouts have become regular visitors to the Sandlotter web site. In addition to current league standings, the Sandlotter lists schedules, scores, news, home runs, etc..  It also features articles on players of the week and their accomplishments. Each year in excess of 80,000 visitors log onto the Sandlotter web site.

HOW CAN SANDLOTT BASEBALL BENEFIT MY TEAM?
SANDLOTT Super League teams are ranked nationally. This gives each team national recognition and draws attention to their individual program. We also make coaches and scouts aware of the scheduled Super League games in their area. Since games are scheduled in advance it's easy for them to find the team or player they want to see.

WHAT IS THE MISSION AND GOALS OF SANDLOTT BASEBALL?
SANDLOTT Baseball's mission statement is to "create leagues and a program that challenges the talented player and assist that player to the next baseball level". One of the ways SANDLOTT accomplishes it's mission is thru the Super League schedule. The Super Leagues create the best in competition to develop the young player. We also promote players through our championship tournament series that is held each July. The Championship series offers the best in competition plus creates opportunities for the high school player to be scouted. And finally each August we invite all SANDLOTT Super League players that are rising juniors and seniors to Nashville, TN for the SANDLOTT Showcase. We have 25 to 30 schools attending each year as well as many area pro scouts.
